We are proud of our work and here are examples of feedback we received:

  • If it wasn’t for Express Group Fife I don’t know where I would be – service user from West Fife

  • Definitely best group I've been to – service user from West Fife

  • I love going to the groups, they keep me going – service user from West Fife

  • Before starting to attend Express Group I never went out and did not interact with anyone. I now attend group weekly and started to attend another group and I am in touch with other service users outwith the group – service user from Central Fife

  • The Express Group has been instrumental in my recovery and still helps me towards my goal of continuing my career – service user from East Fife

  • Without their help and continued support, I would not have the quality of life I am enjoying today – service user from East Fife

  • I have seen them put the members of the group first and foremost. They have shown compassion, friendship and professionalism – service user from East Fife

  • Our group is important part of our usual routine which helps with our wellebing. We look to the group for company, support and respite from responsibilities. We rely on advice we get from staff, volunteers and other members of the group, about health, family and benefits issues - service users from Central Fife

  • We look forward to going to Express Group each week - we rely on familiarity of the routine of coming to the group - it gives us something to look forward to. Many of us don't have any other positive social activity. It makes the rest of the week more bearable to know that we will see friends at the group - it is literally a lifeline for us - service users from Central Fife

From 2024 consultation about two weeks break in Summer (outcome: a split break - one week in August and one week in October)

  • By coming here, I meet and interact with people, otherwise I would be on my own at home.
  • Mental health doesn’t take holidays and for most of those two weeks missing group can be extremely difficult.
  • I really enjoy coming to the group every week and when we are off for 2 weeks it makes it harder to come back. I like routine and I really like the company.
  • I think 2 weeks off from the group would be too long for me as I look forward to seeing my friends.
  • It is too long to go without the vital face-to-face support which we all rely on.
  • I find it too long as I enjoy the company and love playing triominos.
  • I feel the break is too long and it affects my mental health, it makes me feel depressed because I don’t have contact with people for 2 weeks and I don’t have anything to look forward to.
  • The groups are sometimes the only contact people have with others.
  • I feel any break is not helpful to members, going to the group maybe the only time a person gets out and talks. Also, the group may be the only chance through the week for a person to get a hot meal.
  • I personally feel the need to be amongst people at least once a week and if I have even a week off at a time when, it could be detrimental to my mental health as most of the time I am by myself with no one to interact with.
  • One week off is only just manageable but I would still struggle without it. Two consecutive weeks without that contact for me would have a bad impact.
  • The group has made my life better even just a day out the house is beneficial.
  • Service users use this service as a great source of support to go out with others.
  • Coming to the group is something I look forward to, it gives me something to get out of bed for, it gives me a purpose.
  • I think it would be better if it was split as I feel it is too long without seeing my friends.
