Where does EXPRESS GROUP FIFE name come from?
The name comes from Ex Psychiatric Recreational Educational Social Skills Group.
Who can access EGF groups?
Our service is available for people in Fife over 18 who require support to improve and/or maintain their mental health and wellbeing.
Which is my nearest group?
There are currently eleven groups at eight locations across Fife each week.

Can I just pop in to the group to see if I like it?
No. We have a referral system in place for joining our groups. We accept referrals and self-referrals. Referral forms are available here.
An initial referral meeting with a Caseworker will be followed by a free tester visit to the chosen group, where you can decide if it is something for you. If not, we will try to help you with getting support from other services.
Do I have to pay to go the group?
Yes. All groups are working toward being financially self-sufficient and service users pay a small sum to help meet the running costs of the group. Generally, the cost at present is £5.00 per visit. Sometimes particular group are run for free (usually for a year) when additional funding has been secured.
The referral tester visits are free.
What if I am too anxious to join the group right away?
The Caseworker can work with you initially on a One-to-One basis to help you to gain confidence to attend the group on your own.
Do you offer befriending and/or counselling?
No. We can only support you with referrals to the organisations providing those services.
Can I attend more than just one group per week?
Yes. Service users can attend any group throughout Fife, as long as there is a space at the group and it has been agreed and planned with the Caseworker.
Am I insured when at the group?
Yes. Service users are insured through our Public Liability policy, for any activity, with which they are asked to be involved by Express Group Fife.
Can I bring my own cooked food to the group?
No. Service users are not allowed to bring their own cooked food to the groups. This is to comply with the food hygiene regulations.
The only exception is if you have specific dietary requirements, and the food is only for your personal use.
